BREAKING NEWS: ‘I Will Stay.’ – Otega Oweh Affirms Commitment to Kentucky Wildcats Amid Speculation

In a significant boost to the Kentucky Wildcats, standout guard Otega Oweh has declared his intention to remain with the team, dispelling recent rumors about a potential departure. Oweh, who transferred from Oklahoma in April 2024, has been instrumental in Kentucky’s success this season, averaging 16.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

His consistent performances have not gone unnoticed; Oweh recently earned Second-Team All-SEC honors from the SEC Coaches postseason awards. He has scored in double figures in 29 of 31 games, including standout performances like a 22-point game against Missouri and a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds against Vanderbilt.

Addressing the speculation, Oweh stated, “I will stay. Kentucky is my home, and I believe in what Coach Mark Pope and this program are building. We’ve faced challenges, but I’m committed to pushing through with my brothers. Big Blue Nation, we’re coming back stronger!”

This announcement comes at a crucial time as the Wildcats prepare for the postseason. Oweh’s leadership and on-court prowess are expected to be pivotal in Kentucky’s pursuit of championship success.
