Tottenham will compete with Liverpool for the best Premier League player.

According to reports, Tottenham will try to recruit Lloyd Kelly from AFC Bournemouth in January, and Liverpool is allegedly considering a similar move.

Alasdair Gold of Football London reports that Ange Postecoglou’s team may try to sign the Cherries captain as the North London club looks to bolster their defense in the coming months.

Kelly isn’t just being eyed by Tottenham this winter; according to 90min, Liverpool is also considering bringing the English defender to Anfield in 2019.

Kelly is one of the more unnoticed center backs in the Premier League, which may be why both Liverpool and Tottenham are suddenly interested. Eddie Howe praised Kelly as a “outstanding” defender.
Kelly, however, may be Jurgen Klopp’s ideal January signing given how little quality depth Liverpool currently has in the defense, particularly when the Bournemouth star’s adaptability is questioned.
Despite Liverpool’s busy schedule this season, Kelly might find a better fit at Tottenham given the opportunities Postecoglou might present to the defender.

Liverpool needs to defeat Tottenham to get Kelly.

Kelly’s transfer to a top-six Premier League team appears to be finalized, thus Liverpool needs to make sure they sign the center-back before Tottenham.

Liverpool must exert every effort to get Kelly, a Bournemouth player, as the Reds may have made a mistake by failing to sign a versatile defender in the summer.

However, with Postecoglou’s Tottenham being one of the Premier League’s most intriguing teams, signing Kelly won’t be easy for the Liverpool team, and a strategy needs to be created immediately ahead of the January transfer window.
