Our problem this season is poor Officiating: Erik  Ten Hag lament over VAR refusal to award penalty in Man Utd  vs Liverpool match

It was a disappointing afternoon for Liverpool, one they’ll be eager to put behind them. Despite dominating much of the first half, they failed to capitalize on their opportunities, leaving themselves vulnerable to Manchester United’s resurgence.

The turning point came in the second half, when a costly mistake from Jarell Quansah allowed Bruno Fernandes to capitalize with a stunning chip over Caoimhin Kelleher. This moment shifted the momentum in favor of Manchester United, giving them the impetus to mount a comeback.

Although Liverpool managed to equalize through Kobe Mainoo’s second goal, the damage had already been done. Jurgen Klopp, speaking in his post-match press conference, stood by Quansah, offering both defense and guidance to the young player.

“I thought he dealt extremely well with it,” Klopp said. “When our idols in the past made these kind of mistakes there was no social media. I hope he’s smart enough to switch that part off.”

Even Liverpool leader, Virgil van Dijk had to give support on Quansah, saying: “Mistakes happen in football everyone who has a career in football makes mistakes you can only learn from it.”
