Liverpool faces a significant challenge tonight as they aim to overturn a substantial deficit in the Europa League quarter-final against Atalanta. Last Thursday’s 3-0 defeat at Anfield dealt a severe blow to Jurgen Klopp’s side, followed by another unexpected loss to Crystal Palace in the Premier League title race on Sunday.

The question looms whether Klopp will field his strongest lineup for the trip to Italy, especially considering the need to regain ground domestically, with a pivotal fixture against Fulham looming this weekend, followed by a midweek Merseyside derby.

While Klopp has emphasized taking the competition seriously, the return of injured players could bolster Liverpool’s chances. Alisson’s return in the Palace defeat and his presence in Italy suggest he will continue in goal. However, Conor Bradley’s injury absence means Trent Alexander-Arnold is likely to start for the first time since February.

Although Diogo Jota is available again, Stefan Bajcetic’s recent return to action doesn’t position him for immediate inclusion. Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip, and Ben Doak remain sidelined as long-term absentees for Liverpool.

The predicted Liverpool lineup (4-3-3) includes Alisson in goal; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, and Robertson in defense; Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, and Elliott in midfield; and Salah, Jota, and Diaz in attack.

The last time Liverpool played away at Atalanta, Diogo Jota scored a hat-trick with the Reds winning 5-0 👀
