BREAKING NEWS; Arsenal fans jubilates as Manchester City  may suffer 3 point deduction after Tottenham defeat. Details 👇

Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on six Tottenham Hotspur players following Manchester City’s vital win in north London last night.

Tottenham fell to a 2-0 defeat to the Premier League champions after a second-half brace from Erling Haaland.

Ange Postecoglou will have plenty of positives to take from the game when it comes to the performance, with Spurs pushing City all the way.

But the Aussie boss was furious in his post-match press conference and claimed the foundations at Tottenham are ‘fairly fragile’.

Postecoglou was also spotted rowing with a supporter during the game and seemed frustrated with the events surrounding the fixture.

Of course, a Tottenham result would have ultimately handed Arsenal the chance to win the title on Sunday at home to Everton.

While the Spurs boss clearly wasn’t impressed with the fans’ reaction to City’s victory, Pep Guardiola had high praise for his side after the game.

Guardiola lauds six Tottenham players

Speaking to Sky Sports after last night’s clash in north London, the City boss raved about Heung-min Son, Dejan Kulusevski, Pedro Porro, Brennan Johnson, James Maddison and Pape Matar Sarr.

“They are so fast,” Guardiola said. “Kulusevski, Maddison, Johnson, Son. They have some fantastic players.

“The runners with Porro and Sarr, they have a lot of weapons and speed behind for defenders. It’s an exceptional team, exceptional. We knew we had to suffer.”

Tottenham’s defeat vs City in numbers

Despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take from Tottenham’s display against the reigning champions.

Postecoglou even switched things up, with Micky van de Ven starting at left-back while Radu Dragusin got the nod at centre-back.

The Aussie boss also opted to play without a recognised striker as he started four midfielders while Son and Johnson played out wide.

According to Sofascore, Spurs edged the possession on the night as they had 53 per cent of the ball against a usually dominant City side.

Postecoglou’s men also managed 10 shots to City’s eight, with both sides creating four big chances.

City had the edge in terms of xG though as they created 2.40 to Spurs’ 1.66 on the night.
