Breaking news: Los Angeles Lakers has parted way with 9-years NBA veteran Christian Wood after a trade involving Rookie Dalton kencht to Charlotte Hornets was called off…

In a significant roster move, the Los Angeles Lakers have parted ways with nine-year NBA veteran Christian Wood to make room for the signing of center Alex Len. This decision comes after a proposed trade involving Charlotte Hornets’ center Mark Williams was called off due to a failed physical examination.
Christian Wood, who joined the Lakers in September 2023 on a two-year deal, had a challenging tenure with the team. He appeared in 50 games during the 2023-24 season, averaging 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. His season was cut short due to a left knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery in March 2024. Despite exercising his player option for the 2024-25 season, Wood underwent a second arthroscopic procedure in September 2024 and has not played since.
The Lakers initially aimed to bolster their frontcourt by acquiring Mark Williams from the Charlotte Hornets. However, the trade was rescinded when Williams did not pass his physical examination. In response, the Lakers signed 7-foot center Alex Len, who was recently waived by the Washington Wizards after a trade from the Sacramento Kings. Len, 31, brings experience and depth to the Lakers’ roster, having averaged 1.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 7.2 minutes over 36 games this season.
This roster adjustment comes in the wake of the Lakers’ significant trade that sent Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for All-Star guard Luka Doncic. With these changes, the Lakers aim to strengthen their lineup as they continue their pursuit of success in the Western ,conference.
