Georgia Bulldogs Quarterback Carson Beck Declares for NFL Draft Following Elbow Surgery

Carson Beck, the standout quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs, has announced his decision to enter the 2025 NFL Draft after undergoing season-ending elbow surgery. Beck sustained a UCL injury to his right elbow during the SEC Championship Game against Texas on December 7, 2024, which required surgical intervention and sidelined him for the College Football Playoff.

During the 2024 season, Beck led Georgia to an 11–2 record, including an SEC Championship victory. He passed for 3,485 yards and 28 touchdowns, with 12 interceptions.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Beck expressed gratitude for his time at Georgia, stating, “I am forever thankful for the unwavering support from my coaches, teammates, and the incredible Bulldog Nation. While my journey in Athens has come to an end, I am excited for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in the NFL.”

With Beck’s departure, sophomore quarterback Gunner Stockton is expected to lead the Bulldogs in the upcoming College Football Playoff. Stockton stepped in during the SEC Championship Game following Beck’s injury and is anticipated to start in Georgia’s playoff games, beginning with the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame.

Beck’s decision adds him to a talented pool of quarterbacks entering the 2025 NFL Draft, including Shedeur Sanders from Colorado and Cam Ward from Miami. His collegiate career concludes with an impressive 24–3 record as a starter, amassing 7,912 passing yards, 58 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions.

As Beck transitions to the professional arena, the Georgia Bulldogs and their fans extend their best wishes for his recovery and future success in the NFL.
