Emeka Egbuka, a standout wide receiver for Ohio State University, was tragically killed in a gunfire incident in his hometown of Steilacoom, Washington, on January 1, 2025. Egbuka, 22, was visiting family during the holiday break when the incident occurred.

 

Local authorities responded to reports of gunfire in a residential area late Wednesday evening. Upon arrival, they found Egbuka with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Steilacoom Police Department has launched an investigation into the shooting, urging anyone with information to come forward.

 

Egbuka was a key player for the Ohio State Buckeyes, known for his exceptional athleticism and dedication to the sport. He had recently played a pivotal role in the team’s 41-21 Rose Bowl victory over Oregon, contributing significantly to the Buckeyes’ success.
