Heartbreaking Update About Pittsburgh Steelers Co-Owner Art Rooney II….

As of December 30, 2024, there have been no recent reports indicating any health issues or other concerns regarding Art Rooney II, the President and co-owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers. In fact, earlier this year, Rooney was honored by the University of Exeter with an Honorary Doctorate in Law for his contributions to sports, business, and philanthropy.

Art Rooney II, born on September 14, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is the eldest son of Patricia and Dan Rooney, and the grandson of Steelers founder Art Rooney Sr. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 1978 and a Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law in 1982. During his legal studies, he spent a summer at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom, studying International Law.

Rooney’s professional journey includes serving as vice president and general counsel of the Steelers before being named team president in May 2003. Under his leadership, the Steelers secured Super Bowl victories in February 2006 and February 2009. Beyond his role with the Steelers, Rooney is actively involved in the NFL, serving on various committees, including the Stadium Committee, Legislative Committee, Management Council Executive Committee, International Committee, and Digital Media Committee.

In addition to his professional achievements, Rooney is known for his philanthropic efforts. He has funded research into sports-related concussions through the Chuck Noll Foundation and established the Art Rooney Scholarship Fund, providing annual grants to North Catholic High School and Pittsburgh Promise students. He is also committed to supporting initiatives related to Type 1 Diabetes, a cause close to his heart.

Given the lack of recent reports indicating any issues concerning Art Rooney II, it appears that he continues to lead the Pittsburgh Steelers and engage in his philanthropic endeavors without any publicized concerns.
